A MAJOR warning has been issued for thousands of Irish parents who could be missing out on extra cash. The rebranded Child Support Payment, previously known as Increase for a Qualified Child, is increasing its payments as part of the Budget 2025. This means that the payment will rise by €4 from €46 to €50 for children under the age of 12 years and by €8 from €54 to €62 for children aged 12 years and over. This means the major bonus is now worth up to €3,200. The new increase in payments will come into effect in January and will be added to a person's weekly social welfare payment if they are eligible for the payments. They will not get the Child Support Payment with certain payments, in some circumstances, they may only receive a half-rate payment. You may receive an Increase for a Qualified Adult if you have an adult dependant. To qualify for the Child Support Payment, your child must: It can be paid on behalf of foster children. And your child does not have to be financially dependent on you and they can be working and earning money without affecting the increase paid to you.
